Majestic Creek

The clubhouse provides all the amenities a visitor could wish for and is complemented by a relaxing atmosphere with excellent service. Registering to play is more a pleasure than a formality and is enhanced by a personal escort to the first tee. The service and hospitality many make the visitor a little bemused, but reality quickly returns when he is confronted with the first shot of the day.
The course was designed by a local golf architect but equal praise must go to the construction team who have produced a layout which needs to be played with imagination and skill. Valleys in the nearby mountains supply water to the maze of streams winding around the course, and the constructors have been careful to preserve them as natural hazards. In certain areas these features have been highlighted, and the results are both attractive as well as meeting the high standards of design expected by the modern day golfer.
The golf course maintenance staff have certainly approached their responsibilities with enthusiasm. Within two months from the opening day (late 1993) the course was playing well, and Hua-Hin now has another quality golf resort added to an ever increasing list.
The indigenous "Zoysia" grass was chosen by the developers in preference to the imported hybrid 'Bermuda' grasses for both fairways and greens. This decision is already proving to be successful, and the longer handicapped players will be particularly pleased by the depth of turf on the prepared playing surfaces. Environmentalists will also be happy to know that 'Zoysia' grass requires very little treatment with pesticides and needs less water than other species of grass during dry seasons.
Majestic Creek is the latest of the championship golf courses to open. The road inland to the club passes through rural Thailand with small farms producing pineapples, sugarcane, bananas and mangos. The journey is interesting, and it becomes more scenic as the road approaches the golf resort which lies beneath the ever present mountains to the west of Hua-Hin.
